Top 5 Things to keep Mentally FIT in 2023
2023 is right around the corner. 2022 was good and bad for multiple reasons. Many people saw a financial setup, whereas subsiding COVID conditions helped our societies repair individuals emotionally and socially.
While we would still consider 2022 a year of transition, 2023 will be the beginning of a new NORMAL. This year will help heal many wounds across the spectrum of a lifestyle.
Our analysis revealed that entering 2023 without learning a few essential tools can blindside me in a failure zone quickly.
5. Reconnect with social emotions
Studies show that reconnecting with social emotions can boost immunity which will help keep us safe from infections like COVID-19.
While COVID-19 pushed everybody in a zone of quietness, and constraints, 2023 will require us to reverse these learned behaviors. One way to push ourselves towards 2023 is making real-conversations and restricting online communications via messengers (iMessage, WhatsApp, Slacks, Chats etc.). This will open up the opportunity to connect and make actual healthy talks, which can help us emotionally, and rebuild social connections.
There are many ways of implementing it such as -
Getting to know people, asking them about their well being, talking about the good-old days pre-covid, eating things which we can not order via apps, giving hugs, and kisses, and simply spending more time under the sun with others can help reconnecting with the society emotionally.
4. Manage anxiety and nervousness
Imagine a fleet of people joining you in everyday journey to schools, universities and workplace. Each struggling with similar emotions doubtful emotions. Interacting with this fleet is going to make us nervous, or worse, show us our scared soul. Many of us haven’t seen or talk to many people in the recent past, and that unknowing will surely cause anxiety.
Two responses that everybody is going to follow are flight or FIGHT.
However, during these unavoidable situations, learning to immediately calm both mind and body will be crucial.
- There are many tools and apps like headspace, etc. which are great tools in giving instant relievers.
- Instead of opening WhatsApp, Instagram etc , I would strict myself to apps which help me manage my instant emotions.
- I often reach out to a soft object in my pocket to bing my attention away from the projections of other’s emotions. Keeping something cold in pocket or in purse can greatly help.
3. DO not multi-task
There will always be work.
There will always be deadlines.
There will always be additional workload.
I often multi-task to do MOST in limited time. However, that limited multi-tasking time gets extended to weeks, to months and to years, and once I enter the multi-tasking expectations, I will find it hard to say NO to any additional work.
Instead of multi-tasking, my focus would be on doing one task at a time. I will be careful to commit to any additional work, whether its at home or at business. This will help me keep my sanity while I juggle the numerous expectations of non-COVID-era.
2. Turn off THE News
News is important, however devoting a major portion of our already busy schedule to News can break our day. Instead, turn-off news to the maximum extend so it does not interfere with any plans of the day.
The ups and down of the share-market and so-called talks about recession can bring you down too. All these incoming news should be tuned off.
I am not saying that you should turn a blind-eye to the known threats of future, however focusing on the present will give strength to prepare for the future.
1. Always SMILE
When you smile and force yourself to smile, you will notice a sense of relaxation going from your head to toe. This sensation will bring you in the present moment.
Conditioning both mind and body to your smile is going to keep you going for long term in an everybody busy schedule of the life.
And most important of all, never-ever be scared. Whatever happens-happens. If your wishes come true … its great. However, if those do not, that’s the best … because that’s when GOD’s wishes come true.
May GOD be with you in 2023. Good LUCK and Happy reading!!!
